Jill Dando was the BBC’s golden girl best known for presenting Crimewatch and Holiday when she was mercilessly shot dead as she entered her Fulham home in April 1999. The hunt for her killer prompted one of the biggest homicide enquires ever conducted by the Metropolitan Police. Two years later local resident Barry George was found guilty of her murder.
Following a dramatic retrial in 2008, George was released from prison and having spent 8 years behind bars his conviction was quashed. His acquittal left many unanswered questions and more than 20 years on, Jill’s murder seems as inexplicable as the day her body was found on her doorstep of her home.
If it wasn’t Barry George just who else would want to kill Jill Dando?
